Following the nomination by members of the branch pubs to be included in the 2024 Good Beer Guide, members were asked to submit their votes for the branch Pub of the Year 2023 competition, the results of which can be confirmed as follows.

First Place:

The Royal Oak, Pencelli

Second Place:

The New Inn, Bwlch

Third Place:

The Red Lion, Llangynidr

Congratulations to Andrew, Fran and Leon at the Royal Oak, winners for the second year running, also to Neil & Sarah at the New Inn and to Adey & Sarah at the Red Lion. The placings were the same as for 2022, highlighting the consistency of each establishment and the ongoing support of each amongst the membership.

We should also note a creditable performance from Treebeards Bar in Crickhowell, which was not far behind in fourth place, very commendable for a relatively new venue on the branch map.
